Rashmi Walankikar, I am professionally qualified artist and have completed my Diploma in Fine Arts from Pune, India in 1999. I have held various solo and group exhibitions in Pune and London (where I used to live for few years with family). I have also worked as an Art Teacher at Sanskriti school in Pune and have been guiding students here in Singapore. I have also done thematic paintings for few magazine covers of Maharashtra Mandal Singapore.
“ True work of art begin in soul textured with emotions. I am an artist who dips brush in my own soul and reflect my own self into my paintings”
Right since beginning, I am immensely fascinated by the power of this unique and creative medium to express myself. To me it is powerful still of expression which channelizes my inner-self, energy and spirituality using colors, brushes, canvas and my soul.
I am in Indian born professionally trained artist living in Singapore since 2010. I completed graduation in Fine Arts from Pune, India. I also worked for several years as an Arts teacher which gave me lot of time to practice, learn new mediums and sharpen my skills. I got an opportunity to exhibit my work in UK, India and Singapore. Several of my art works have won awards and are published as magazine covers.
I love to explore and use different mediums – acrylic, oil, charcoal, soft pastels. I do not like to confine or limit myself. My preference is to use bold and vibrant colours. I apply thick brush strokes and sometimes use palm, fingers to achieve specific effect, depth and texture. In my view it reflects my true inner-self, nature, spirituality and energy.
I do it for the pure pleasure and sheer joy it gives to me. Painting is a means of self-enlightenment and rediscovery for me. I am extremely passionate about what I do. I aspire to inspire viewers to follow their own soul and heart through my work.
